For me they only occur a few times a year and don't interfere with me unless I stop talking in the middle of a sentence to stare at it like a cat. If I could buy paint in that colour I would it is so bizarre. I've had them for years, as well as visual snow, and floaters.įor me it looks like the spot from a laser pointer but it is every colour imaginable all at once, it lasts for 2 or 3 seconds and then fades out. I'm going to book an appointment to an optometrist tomorrow before my vision goes. Sorry for the long incomprehensible wall of text with no formatting but I'm just so worried now about it.Įdit: I'm trying to sleep now and just saw a quick flash at the side of my eyes while they were closed. But yeah like the title suggests does anyone else get this and should I be concerned to go get a check up again? Kinda sucks cause all of this developed (floaters, increased awareness to my VS) after my issues with tinnitus literally right after exams which was already super stressful and I'm not sure if it's just my anxiety making things worse or I have an actual problem I need to get fixed before it gets worse. During my day where I'm super busy I don't notice any of these things but once everything settles down that's when I notice most them most. This kinda ties into the dots things because I'm scared it is another symptom of retinal detachment alongside the fact that I have developed floaters in my right eye that sometimes become incredibly annoying. I went to my GP to check for possible retina detachment and I was told that everything looks good at the front, but I should go to a optometrist just for a eye checkup since I've never been before so that they can look at the back of my eye (I haven't gone yet). Often i don't see them unless I really focus on the sky, a solid color or at night when I close my eyes, but they are making me concerned. They don't last long but are frequent enough and relatively sized enough for me to notice. Not sure if I should be concerned about this but I've got the TV static VS and for awhile now I've noticed little pinpoint/pinprick dots of light, sometimes they are black sometimes they are white. Be careful who you trust, don't waste your money. Unfortunately the recent increase in awareness of VS has brought in opportunists looking to line their pockets with your money. In May 2014 the results from the first major research trial into visual snow were reported. The study described strong evidence from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) that the disease is caused by hypermetabolism in the right lingual gyrus and left cerebellar anterior lobe of the brain.
